Be a power spot yourself.

What if you could take a power spot with you? Well, you can if you become a power spot yourself. The energy you spend on a small thing can bring yourself and others great delight.

The summer solstice is the first day of the second half of the year. So, I suddenly planned an overnight trip to Hakone. The purpose was to Zoom-stream the Hakone shrine visit in the 1D1U Community. According to a YouTube channel, the best time to visit the shrine was from 5:00 am to 6:59 am, so I went to bed early the day before and woke up at 6:00 am.

After a quick soak in the hot spring in the morning, I headed to Hakone Shrine. I turned on Zoom as I walked along the forest path on the lake in the morning mist. The video showed a viewer taking an early morning walk in Tokyo. It’s fun to live in an age where we can share our travels so easily. I want to make my life like that from now on.

I went up the 89 steps of the sacred Hakone Shrine, taking videos with a selfie stick. Apart from me, there were only two other female worshippers. The birdsong was beautiful. The clear water was flowing from the mouths of the nine dragons in the temizuya (hand-watering basin). The Hakone Shrine in the morning mist was filled with negative ions. I delivered the video, which seemed to convey the atmosphere of the Hakone Shrine to the viewers.

Finally, to show everyone Lake Ashinoko in the morning mist, I went to the Torii gate of Hakone Shrine, which rises above Lake Ashinoko. Normally, this is a very photogenic place, so there is usually a queue. Since it was morning, I was able to stand there and share the scenery with everyone on video. Then I turned around and saw two women, who asked me, “Could you take our picture?”

“Of course,” I said. Inwardly, “Congratulations. You are lucky if you chose me. I will take your best shots in different compositions!”, I thought.

“I’ll take pictures from different angles.”

“You’re beautiful.”

“I’ll take some shots in portrait mode too.”

When I asked them to check, they were pleased and said, “Wow! You’re very good at it.” I was happy to help people on the morning of the summer solstice.

”You’re here because it’s the summer solstice, right? The second half of 2022 will be a great year for both of us! “ I said and we parted with a high-five. They seemed to head to Kuzuryu Shrine.

I meditated, had breakfast, and then headed for the Kuzuryu shrine, a 4.5 km road, but I felt I got there quickly as it was a road I knew. Then I saw the two women again. I had a feeling I was going to see them.

“Oh, it’s you! We had been waiting here for an hour. Here opens at 9:00 am.”

“Oh, is that so? I came here without thinking and it was exactly 9 o’clock! Lucky!”

“You’re so lucky!”

So we were the first to the Kuzuryu Shrine on the summer solstice! I was happy to tell them the best power spot. Then we sat there for a while, often looking at the fantastic torii gate floating on the lake.

Then we took a photo together, with the Kuzuryu Shrine in the background, and connected on Instagram. I was told, ”We are so lucky to have met Hitomi-san.”

I always want to be a person who people say “I am so lucky to meet you!” Then I can naturally act in a way that makes people happy. In other words, maybe that’s what it means to be your power spot!
