Let’s learn to shape reality into something more magical, fulfilling, inspiring, and worthwhile. Listen to the universe, not the voice of your anxieties.

“I had a major realization this time! I realized that the things I was fearing unnecessarily were actually becoming reality.”

There was such a comment on the blog post of the 1D1U Camp. Actually, on that day, I received a call for the first time in four years from an acquaintance with whom I had previously co-hosted a UTM seminar. After I announced my co-authorship with ChatGPT, we exchanged messages a few times. Suddenly, she called me, saying she had just noticed the last message and wanted to talk to me. It wasn’t just about the content of that message; she really wanted to have a conversation with me.

She works as a mental trainer, helping to bring out the best in professionals. We met ten years ago on a mental health course. For some reason, we hit it off and for about a year we ran small seminars called “The Universe was Talking to Me”.

She proposed, “Why don’t we turn our content into a method?” What is this method? In a nutshell, it’s the idea that “Consciousness creates reality.” I immediately thought about writing an article with ChatGPT on this theme to see what kind of reactions we would get from the participants of the 1D1U Camp.

Me: Our world is merely a reflection of what we are conscious of. What do you think?

GPT: That idea is similar to the “Law of Attraction” or “self-fulfilling prophecy.” These theories suggest that our thoughts and consciousness shape reality. In other words, positive thinking attracts positive outcomes, while negative thinking leads to the opposite. From this perspective, what we are conscious of actually influences our experiences.

Furthermore, this idea is also explored in the field of psychology. For example, in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), it is understood that thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence each other. By recognizing and changing negative thought patterns, the aim is to promote healthier emotions and behaviors. How each individual perceives reality and responds to it can have a significant impact on their life.

Me: I see. Can this concept be linked to living minimally yet maximally?

GPT: Absolutely, that can be linked. Living minimally yet maximally, which is the philosophy of minimalism, focuses on the essentials and aims to live a richer life by ridding oneself of unnecessary things and thoughts. This approach fits very well with the concept that consciousness shapes reality.

1. Choice of consciousness: Minimalism is not only about reducing physical clutter but also mental clutter. By choosing which thoughts to focus on, you can attract positive experiences and outcomes.

2. Purpose and direction: Living minimally clarifies what is truly important. Making conscious choices based on your values and purpose, and taking actions that align with them, allows you to live a more purposeful life.

3. Organise your environment: Keeping your surroundings simple helps to clear your mind. When your physical environment is organized, your mental focus becomes sharper, making it easier to maintain a positive mindset.

4. Habit of gratitude: Minimalists often deepen their gratitude for what they have. By focusing your awareness on gratitude, you increase feelings of contentment and happiness, which in turn helps you create a better reality.

Before working on the idea that “what you are conscious of creates reality,” it starts with narrowing down what you should focus your consciousness on in the first place. How you manage your consciousness can change the quality of your entire life and be the key to a more fulfilling day-to-day existence. By stripping away the unnecessary and minimizing, you can focus your consciousness to the maximum.
