Downloading from the universe! or Be a can-opener.

If you can’t go through the wall you need a ladder to get over it. Every problem has its tool. Every “can” nerds a “can”-opener.

Thanks to one reader, I was able to continue writing my newsletter of listening skills every Thursday for two years since 2018. The reader emailed me every week to tell me how she used my listening skills and how her daily life had changed. Other readers said that they didn’t know where to use the listening skills, but she developed her skills at work, in her everyday life, and her interactions with her family. Looking back, it was a time when communication was more normal than now because there was not a pandemic.

She said that it was especially useful for her in cleaning up her parents’ house, and she wanted to write a novel about her experience. What she wants to say is 「to be considerate of others’ feelings」. So she wants to include the contents of my newsletter in the novel.

We were working together on the structure at her session. How to convey the message easily. How to avoid being too negative. How to insert the listening skills. She read all my newsletters again and tried to include the essence of my writing in her novel. But she found it difficult to do so.

Then an idea came to me. I should help to write about the teaching part. As the image of 「listening skills」 is somewhat difficult I thought, the book needs fictional elements. I’ve been struggling with how to share the listening skills in a way that is easy to understand. so the idea of linking it to real-life experiences is good.

“How about the trendy scenario where the teacher is some kind of animal or alien? The protagonist is given the lecture in a dream. The real newsletter was every Thursday, so Hitomi Big Boss’ lecture will be given every Thursday at 5 am in her dream, often in fiction aliens preach to earthlings, so how about the aliens say to you 「You’re in the cleaning business, why haven’t you cleaned up your parents’ house? That’s a good place to start.”

Well, it looks like we’ve broken through the Earth’s atmosphere! Now she’ll be able to write like she’s downloading from the universe!
