My debut as a morning person

To compress what you have to do into a shorter time is to create gaps either side: That’s “Space-time”. A time when one can figure out what one wants to do.

Since last autumn, my habits have been changing rapidly. Changing my drinking water, transforming my room, standing at my desk to work, first new microwave in 20 years, cooking for myself for the first time, and changing my shower head. And I finally made my debut as a morning person.

Two months ago, I started waking up at 8 am for the 1D1U morning online meditation, but it didn’t become a habit. On the other hand, when I started to get up at 6 am with the sun, it became a habit. I think a dramatic change has more impact on the brain.

I used to go to bed at three or four in the morning and wake up at half-past nine. These days, I go to bed at 11 pm and wake up at 6 am. This means I get an extra hour of sleep.

I wake up at 5.55 am, take a shower and join the TM online meditation at 6 am. I have a drip coffee and a Muji Baum, and then I turn on my computer at 7 am.

I’ve finished writing two blog posts by the time I used to get up, and then I take online English lessons at about 10 am. The shadowing lesson is a time to get into the zone, so my mind is refreshed again and I can concentrate until lunch.

I join TM group meditation on Zoom at 5 pm to give my brain a break. At this point in my new routine, I feel like it’s about 9 pm in my old routine. It’s like jet lag. Where am I?

I go to the gym at 6.30 pm. While walking on the treadmill I spend time listening to book reviews on YouTube at 1.75x and shadow them in English. I take a bath and come back home at 8 pm. Then I have dinner and go to bed at 11 pm.

The whole things has been brought forword byfour hours, and the feeling of having everything done by 5 pm is a liberating experience that I have never felt before. I realized that the sky was still light which made me happier than the feeling of achievement after working late.
