On the first day of the 1D1U Camp in “MOVE”, I streamed live at a new hotel in Tokyo. As it was an evening delivery, I planned to take a shower and then do a quick make-up. However, I realized I had forgotten to bring my foundation. I only had 10 minutes left. For a moment, I thought about the idea of an audio broadcast, but I didn’t need to hide it. I had brought my eyebrows pen with me, so it wouldn’t make that much difference if I drew my eyebrows up nicely. I realized that cooking for myself, my daily green smoothies, and an early bird routine from last year had worked.
I appeared on the Zoom screen with a little blush on my face. I said, “I’m sorry, I’m not wearing any makeup. But it’s okay because you are all 1D1U masters”, which seemed to make everyone laugh. When I checked the recording myself, I found that I looks the same as usual, but rather a more refreshed version of myself.
Once I threw a lot of things away, I started to look forward to creating a new future. The makeup incident was probably a test from the universe.
“What should I make myself study?” I asked myself and then I saw the news about the actress going to graduate school.
Osaka business trips, were always by bullet train, but I booked a flight for the first time.
I told my sister, who climbs mountains in Japan every week — the opposite of me who travels abroad all the time — to take me to the mountains. I bought trekking shoes in a color I would never have chosen before.
By throwing things away, I can let go of past attachments. Then, you could make a completely new choice for the future, not based on data from the past, but a completely new choice. Beyond that, new excitement and growth await you.
