Smash the wall.
Like a forgotten discarded bank note unearthed during the end-of-year cleaning, one’s purpose can also become obscured over time. Ask yourself what it was that was driving you originally. The right question can unlock your younger, ambitious self.
A water leak at the end of the year led to renovation work in the washroom and replacing the bathroom dryer. And to add more to the problem, a 16-year-old drum-type washing machine in the bathroom had a water leak. When the maintenance man checked it out, he said it was already falling apart. As it is a fitted one, it seems it will be replaced with a new one made overseas. Lucky!
Since last year, I have been replacing appliances in my house, so my fridge, oven, and microwave are all made in 2021 and the electronic piano I bought to get back into piano playing after 30 years was also made in 2021. And the bathroom dryer, which was replaced this year, was made in 2022. The drum-type washing machine will probably be made in 2022. I am looking forward to it.
If the appliances in my room started to release new energy, there was no way it would not affect me, as I live there. I felt like I was the only one left behind.
When I went to the hair salon for the first time in the new year, Mr. Kanai, a charismatic hairdresser, told me that he had started an official LINE account to sell his new products with.
I have been sending out my newsletter by email for a long time, but I had been reluctant to take the plunge with LINE because I thought it would be too long-winded. However, using the service Mr. Kanai told me about, it seems possible to Line a newsletter as well. Okay, I’ll give it a go this year.
After the hairdresser’s, I went to my first visit to a shrine of the year and then to the chiropractor, who has been my god-hand for more than 10 years. After the treatment, he began to speak enthusiastically. ”Recently, I had another client from Tohoku who came to see me after reading your blog. Her body and mind hadn’t changed at all seven years. So I kept thinking, ”How do these people meet you and take your coaching…? I kept thinking,” He seemed to be seriously curious about me. Thankfully. However, I have had the same question for more than a decade and have not been able to find an answer.
The answer came two days later when I was talking to my coach. And it reminded me of my founding wish.
I wanted to make ordinary people happy, and I had been blogging and writing about the process of coaching dialogue for a long time, just on the edge of confidentiality. I have unexpectedly hurt people and received negative comments, so I developed skills in adaptation and writing to continue. Now, thankfully, it’s easier to share if it’s a session of community members.
The image of my clients is often thought of as business people. But ordinary people need it more. That is why I could remember my efforts so far to dare to promote my coaching to the general public. The Japanese, in particular, have a high hurdle when it comes to talking to experts. This year I will try to smash the wall that no one has ever broken down.
