Your adult brain is much better at learning than it was when you gave up as a child, and…Today is the youngest you will ever be so why not push the button again.

Teacher: Wouldn’t it be great if you could play and sing “Your song?”
Me: I used to take piano lessons.
Teacher: So you can read a music score?
Me: Probably. Unless I have forgotten. I also have a desire to get back on the piano.
Teacher: It’s something you can do if you learn the chords. Why don’t you consider it a bit?

Me: So I’d like to practice this song next.
Teacher: Well, just sing it, just as you like.
Me: ♪ singing
Teacher: You can sing this normally. It’s not enough to give you a lesson. Why don’t you play this?

So the Benjamin Button button has been pushed again. I always considered resuming playing the piano one day, as an unfinished part of my life.

I resumed studying English because I made friends with a ballroom dancing world champion at a sushi restaurant. That’s how you wait for the right moment to resume, and then a sign from the universe comes along. Unexpected developments. I was pushed nudged.

Since meeting a pianist client in 2014, I have also frequented piano concerts. In other words, having good quality input first may have prepared me for the resumption. Just as I went from a life of eating out to a life of cooking for myself.

I immediately took the 61-key keyboard out into the living room, which had been sitting in my bedroom, waiting patiently for the right moment to be revived. And I decided to practice first the song “For Elise”, which I played in elementary school. Somehow, I seem to have managed to hold on to the elementary school level. My practicing piano has also been added to my routine.

My mother was pleased to hear about my return to the piano. My younger brother was also inspired by the children’s piano lessons, and when my mother hears piano sounds coming from another room, it is usually my brother playing.

So one day, a time capsule can pop open. What would you like to do? Hopefully, you will meet someone who will push your Benjamin Button button.
