To do something repeatedly, means it becomes intuitive, and so it’s possible to see beyond what you are doing and notice your surroundings and change in them.

Client: I have been offered the same job again by someone very helpful to me, but I’m worried that I’m being driven by people’s opinions.

Me: It’s something you want to do, right?

C: Yes. So when I think about it, I don’t get any requests that I don’t want to do. Do you think should I do things like that?

Me: It would be nice for you to be able to do it without having to do too much work. If you do the same things in the future, you only have to prepare once.

C: You once said that you weren’t able to do the same thing over and over again, and I get bored too. What do you do when that happens?

Me: When I do the same thing over and over again, I can get more insight. I think I’m more able to enjoy the benefits of doing the same thing repeatedly now than I used. In fact, in my mid-thirties I purposely went to Paris six times in a row to develop the sensibility of doing the same thing all the time. I was trying to find out it I could enjoy that. First I conquered the tourist sites, then I went to the suburbs of Paris, then to Provence, then to another country on the Eurostar, and then further on to a park with limestone caves and unique architecture. To keep doing this, I was able to develop the sensitivity to see the differences in the same things.

C: I didn’t expect that you went there in order to verify something!

Me: I thought I couldn’t do the same job for decades unless I didn’t first realize that I could stand doing the same thing over and over again. I felt that creating bonds with people was a challenge in my life. To be able to stay with one person for a long time, I have to be able to travel and enjoy myself no matter how many times I go to the same place. If I can improve my sensitivity to find more differences in doing the same thing, it will never be the same.

C: I see. If I keep teaching for a long time, I think I would have to teach the same things many times in the first lesson. I want to feel change every year and to originate.

Me: If you do it many times, you’ll get originality.

In the past, I decided to improve my sensitivity to see the difference in the same thing, and this has changed my future. And now I have my original 1D1U. In short, if you don’t continue, you won’t see what awaits you.
